Do you want to contribute to the sustainable transformation of our built environment using smart data solutions? And do you have experience with renovation processes, the energy transition, and digital tools in construction? Then we have a great opportunity for you!
The energy transition requires a massive renovation effort for existing buildings. As part of the RenoDat – Accelerating Building Renovation and Decarbonization through Data Integration project, we are developing an innovative approach: the Renovation Passport. This tool supports homeowners, municipalities, and construction professionals in step-by-step, data-driven building upgrades. As a researcher, you will lead the design, development, and testing of a prototype tailored to the Dutch context. You will collaborate with partners including Chill Services, municipalities, and construction companies.
You will contribute to a Work Package that focuses on Renovation Passport Development and Integration within the RenoDat project. Your tasks will include:
Co-developing and implementing training programmes to equip construction professionals, volunteers, and advisors with data-driven renovation skills.
You will be part of the Research Centre for Built Environment NoorderRuimte at Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen. NoorderRuimte conducts applied research into the built environment in the northern Netherlands. Our key themes include earthquakes, health & wellbeing, liveability and sustainability. The centre comprises seven research groups with over 80 active researchers, including professors, postdocs, PhD candidates, lecturer-researchers, and students. You will join a multidisciplinary consortium of public, private, and community partners. Your main location will be Groningen, but you will also work at partner sites as needed.
We offer you a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment where you will work with a leading team on one of today’s greatest challenges: the energy transition in the built environment.
